Progress Together for District 4

MEET JUAN

I’m proud to announce that I will be running for Solano County Supervisor, District 4.

I’m entering this race to run a campaign rooted in principles, values, and accountability to the people—not to special interests. I want you to know that I will not be bought, and I will not seek endorsements from groups that expect something in return. My commitment is to the residents of this county, and to you alone.

My reason for running is simple: I’m a husband and a father of six children, ages 21 down to 4. I have real skin in the game. Like many parents, I care deeply about what kind of future we’re leaving for the next generation. I believe it’s time for leaders who are living the same realities as the families they represent. Too often we see career politicians who have spent decades in office and lost touch with the people they serve. I believe it’s my generation’s turn to step forward, lead from the front, and work to create real, positive change.

My story began when I was 11 years old, sent here as a group home kid and raised in rural Vacaville. Life wasn’t easy, but those early challenges shaped me and taught me resilience, responsibility, and determination. After graduating high school, I chose to serve my country by joining the United States Marine Corps as an infantryman.

After my military service, I continued serving my community with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office as a correctional officer, and later with the California Highway Patrol, where I served for ten years. I then became a small business owner here in the county, opening and operating local barber and tattoo shops and creating jobs for our community.

During the COVID pandemic, I took a stand for small businesses and individual freedom when I kept my doors open despite pressure to shut down. That experience tested my resolve and strengthened my belief that leadership means standing firm when it matters most.

I believe your constitutional rights must always come first. I will oppose unconstitutional mandates and always stand up for the freedoms we are sworn to protect. I will support property and landowners and work to ensure county policies are fair, reasonable, and respectful of individual rights.

Transparency will be a cornerstone of how I serve. Every decision I make will be guided by what best protects the safety, security, and future of our residents and our children. I also believe public service is not meant to be a lifelong career, which is why I will serve no more than two terms.

I will not support new county taxes that place additional burdens on our residents. Instead, I will work to make government more efficient and accountable. I will also be a strong advocate for the veterans who call this county home—they deserve our respect, our support, and our action.

Most importantly, I will listen. If you live in District 4 and have real concerns, I want to hear from you. I will always take the time to gather the facts, understand the issue, and make informed decisions that reflect the will and best interests of our community.

This campaign is about service, integrity, and putting people first. I look forward to earning your trust.

Honoring Our Veterans

As the only candidate who served in the armed forces, veterans are a top priority, especially given that this county is home to TAFB and has one of the largest veteran communities. Increasing county benefits and service to our disabled veterans will be a top priority for me once elected.

In the Community

Juan P. Desmarais believes leadership starts with presence. From town hall discussions to neighborhood initiatives, he is actively engaged in building a stronger Solano County District 4.

I WILL MAKE DECISIONS BASED ON PRINCIPLE, NOT PRESSURE. I WILL SERVE WITH INTEGRITY, NOT OBLIGATION.
